The men and women who serve as ushers foster a spirit of reverence and warmth when our community gathers for prayer. Besides showing people to their seats and taking up the collection, they greet parishioners and visitors as they enter the church and look after those with special needs.
The ministry of Lector asks that one grow in the knowledge of Scripture, the living Word of God, and in the ability to communicate that Word at the Church’s worship. Lectors should have a good understanding of the Mass structure and prayers. Lectors should also have a clear speaking voice and are confident reading in front of large groups. Open to all who have received the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation.
A Eucharistic Minister is a parishioner who serves, distributes, and administers the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ during Holy Communion at Mass. The Eucharistic Minister is called not only to minister the Body and Blood of Christ, but to have and maintain a strong faith, a sense of awe, and an inclusiveness of others as the foundation for their ministry. Open to all who have received the sacraments of First Eucharist and Confirmation.
Our servers assist other ministers at liturgical celebrations, especially the presider. The altar server have varied tasks -- cross bearer, holding the ritual books, caring for the sacred vessels, assisting with incense and actively participating in the life of the Assembly.
